Palmetto P.R.I.D.E. Sports

Mission: To provide minority youth with access to club and travel sports competition while developing versatile citizens, through education, exposure, and empowerment. 

Vision: To become the premier club and travel sports organization in South Carolina and Indiana. 

Originating in Columbia, South Carolina in 2018, Palmetto P.R.I.D.E. Sports is a low-cost club and travel sports 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing minority youth  to sports with low minority representation. These sports include but are not limited to Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse, and Tennis. We seek to develop versatile citizens through Education, Exposure and Empowerment. Our five aims, Perseverance, Responsibility, Integrity, Determination, and Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.) are reflected in our Board of Directors, Staff, Volunteers and Athletes. While most club and travel sports organizations charge thousands of dollars and focus on obtaining athletic scholarships for players, Palmetto P.R.I.D.E. Sports is based on the premise of creating equity and access in sport, while fostering athletic and personal development for youth. By removing financial barriers, exposing youth to new athletic and educational opportunities, and providing mentorship, we are building the foundation for the future success of our athletes after high school and beyond. Athletes in our organization will be guided on an educational track of their choosing and paired with a network of professionals to mentor them. Our target population is racial and ethnic minority youth (Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, etc.), ages 11-18, 6th-12th grade. Recognizing the lack of diversity in sports like volleyball, lacrosse, tennis and soccer, Palmetto P.R.I.D.E. Sports seeks to contribute to efforts sponsored by national governing bodies to increase the access to kids from diverse backgrounds in these sports. Palmetto P.R.I.D.E. Sports is organized to operate in Indianapolis, IN as Circle City P.R.I.D.E. Sports upholding the same mission and vision.
