Lakeview Neighborhood Alliance’s intent is to advance the lives of the Lakeview community by connecting them to resources and opportunities while advocating for their overall growth and renewal.

Vision: Lakeview is a self-sufficient, self-determined, and self-governed neighborhood that others look to as an example of a diverse community with strong families.

Mission: To Engage Lakeview Community residents, Educating them on opportunities and connecting them to resources, while advocating for Lakeview’s Growth and Empowerment.

Lakeview’s Hierarchy of Needs begins with the Lakeview Community and their physiological and safety needs with things like food, shelter, and personal security. Having these needs met, first, is the pathway to love & belonging, esteem, and self-actualization taking place. Utilizing the Universal Basic Income model, we have put into place a program to help meet those essential needs, empowering the residents of Lakeview to educate themselves and engage in the solution-oriented problem solving centered around LNA’s 4 Areas of Programming: Child & Family Stability, Prevention of Displacement, Economic Mobility, and Civic Awareness.

As a Legacy Neighborhood, Lakeview aims to embody the place-based strategy with programming, setting a precedent for other neighborhood/organization relationships. Transportation issues no longer become a determining factor in accessing opportunities and resources with place-based services. Our short term responsive plan (Gift Card Program & Place-Based Service Programming) lends way to LNA’s long term strategic goal to own and maintain an EHub within the community, bringing conscious and consistent engagement, education, and economic empowerment into the heart of a neighborhood, supporting and serving 328 household and approximately 1304 residents of Lakeview.

The LNA’s 3E Ecosystem Plan (2021 - 2026), developed alongside residents and stakeholders, has 3 main concepts: 1) Acquiring ownership of 2 old CMS buildings sitting vacant in the Lakeview Neighborhood, a perfect location for our Economic Mobility Hub (EHub). The tentative list of services that the hub will house are a co-working space, event/networking space, housing manufacturing vocational center, small supermarket, banking/financial institution, and youth education/apprenticeship opportunities. 2) Attaining vacant properties in the neighborhood, taking an innovative approach to create more affordable housing by working with developers to build multi-family units. This portion of the plan is being partnered with West Side Community Land Trust. 3) Partnering with Faith Memorial Baptist Church to raise funds to build a Community Outreach Center on the land that the church owns in the neighborhood. This center will focus on Youth Programming, Health/Wellness, Resource/Advocacy, and Transitional Housing Program. All together, this is a $31 Million dollar project that we are currently raising funds for. We believe that by focusing on bringing these three entities to our neighborhood that we can accomplish our vision of building a transformational ecosystem that produces a diverse community with strong families.

Lakeview is a Culturally Responsible Community. We define this as "A group who makes a pledge and promise to meet the needs and solve the problems of the cultural group in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way."
