Outdoor Afro is where Black people and nature meet. The national not-for-profit organization started as a social enterprise in 2009. Today, it selects and trains more than 100 volunteer leaders who guide local network activities across U.S. neighborhoods. Network events like hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, gardening, and skiing take place in up to 60 cities and 32 states, including Washington, D.C. The organization annually impacts 60,000 participants nationwide.
